Have you checked out how amazing coconut oil really is? There are so many amazing ways to use coconut oil. Did you know that it is not only really good for you when consumed in moderation, but you can also use it to help improve your skin, nails and even your pets skin and coat?
Coconut oil is not only amazing in its uses, but it last a long time too. When kept at the right temperature, about 75 degrees, it can last for up to 6 months. Most of the time I use it up long before then, so I never have to worry about it going bad, but if you are looking to use it just for a pet then it is worth the higher price.
Coconut oil is high in saturated fat, so use as a food addition is not something you want to do too often. I use it to put on my popcorn as a treat sometimes, but other then that I usually keep it to use externally. I have found it really is amazing to use for your skin, hair and so much more.
I recommend doing this before bed. I have pets and when I put it on first thing in the morning they tend to try to lick it off of me and that kind of defeats the purpose of the moisturizer. Also when you sleep your skin is in a renewal process and using a moisturizer during this time is more beneficial.
Coconut oil also can help add weight to a pet when you drizzle it over food. They love the stuff and tend to eat more, helping immensely with your pets weight gain. We used Coconut oil to help add some pounds to our German Shepard a few years ago and it worked really well. She loves the stuff and ate all of her food consistently. Do not give large amounts to a pet that is overweight due to the high saturated fat content of coconut oil.
Just add some warm oil to your hair and let it sit for ten minutes. For added moisture wrap your head in plastic wrap and use a blow dryer to help warm up the oil a bit more and allow it to penetrate deeper into your hair. Once your ten minutes is up make sure to shampoo your hair to get rid of the oil residue and then condition.
Keep on your skin for about 10 minutes then rinse off. If you have dry skin use a moisturizer after to keep your skin soft. I promise after doing this, you will feel a difference! I usually do this two times a month to keep my hair moisturized and looking amazing.
This actually works very well and I have used this remedy a few times with my friends kids. You will need a plastic shower cap and a fine tooth comb. put enough coconut oil in your hair to cover all of it, then use the comb to go though your hair. You may need to repeat the process more then once to get rid of all of the lice.
