Last month I decided I was going to start improving myself this year. that meant getting out of the financial and personal mess I have been in. When I decided to do that I went searching on Amazon for self help books for women. Eventually I found this book that looked interesting enough to start to read. Secrets of Six Figure Women is more then just interesting to read. It changed my mindset.
I start every self help book thinking I’ll probably only read a few chapters if that and put it down. My luck with finding a self help book that speaks to me is not good. With Secrets of six figure women I found myself not wanting to put it down. It was real, it was stories, I wasn’t talked down to I was informed.
That started the first new habit of my new year, getting up every morning and reading for 30 minutes, not just reading but reading this book, after finishing it I found another book that references Six Figure Women a few times already and I found I love this one as well (review to come)
What I enjoyed most about Secrets of Six Figure Women is that there are stores about women who struggled, women who are under-earners like I am and over came it. It was not easy, but they did it and in realistic ways. Once I started reading I knew I found a great self help book for women.
I felt motivated reading this book and after just a couple of days I had already decided to make a few changes. The decision to start looking for a new job, one that pays more and offers benefits. I was in a mindset of I needed to stay in this job because at least I was sort of using my interior design degree. (I’m a custom home designer/drafter). The problem is I don’t earn what I should and I don’t have insurance. As a diabetic I need to start thinking more about me and my health.
The next thing this book motivated me to do is start another blog, yes I have decided to make a few changes here and start a new blog called Blog Bread. Blog Bread is a blog all about blogging, how to start a blog, create content and even stay motivated. My goal is to help people who want to blog succeed. That is another thing I took from reading Secrets of Six Figure Women, many of them found there purpose and went after something that would make them happy. I love helping people. Years ago I ran a forum that helped other bloggers. I’ve missed it and I hope that Blog Bread will help others and bring back that feeling of accomplishment from helping others I have been searching for.
Blog Bread Launches January 15th
Besides motivating me to start a new blog and look for new work I am also planning on learning to code, because I already have done some with my blogging. I use to have to do so much more on the back end of my blog and I remember really liking it, but I had no idea I could learn more and possibly get a new job doing it. This is a project I have not started this yet as I don’t have the money to pay for the classes I want to take, but I will soon.
I also was very inspired by Secrets of Six Figure Women to start a website dedicated to empowering women of all ages to think more of themselves and believe they can do whatever they want to, including making six figures. I’m still in the process of figuring out exactly how I want to set this up, but I do credit this book to giving me the idea, now I just have to take action.
This book is so inspiring and if you have not read it yet you need to. As you can see from what I have written so far, this self help book for women has had a huge impact on me and I’m hoping it will help you to. The best part is if you have Kindle Unlimited it’s free to check out!
